At A Beautiful Bite, your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit abeautifulbite.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this website, you consent to the practices described below. Last updated: July 3, 2026.
Who We Are
A Beautiful Bite is a food and recipe blog. Our website address is https://abeautifulbite.com. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can email us at hello@abeautifulbite.com or use our Contact page.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Advertising
This site is supported in part by advertising. Third-party advertising networks may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to serve advertisements that are more relevant to you. This information does not include personal details such as your name or email address. You can learn more about interest-based advertising, and opt out, through the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info or, for Google, through your Google Ad Settings.
Analytics
We use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors find and use our site. These services collect anonymized information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location, and the type of device and browser you use. This helps us improve our content and your experience. We do not use this data to personally identify you.
Affiliate Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners may use cookies to track referrals. For full details, please see our Disclosure.
Use of the Pinterest API
The owner of A Beautiful Bite uses a private tool to help schedule and measure our own Pins on Pinterest. This tool connects only to our own Pinterest business account through the official Pinterest API. It reads information about our own account and Pins — such as Pin impressions, saves, clicks, and our top-performing Pins, along with the title, description, image, and link of Pins we created — so we can plan and understand the performance of our own content.
This tool does not collect, store, or share any personal information about you as a visitor, and it does not access any other person’s Pinterest account or data. Access credentials for our Pinterest account are stored securely (encrypted) and are used only to access our own account. Our use of information received from the Pinterest API complies with the Pinterest Developer Guidelines, including its limits on how such data may be used, stored, and shared.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal information. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We may share data with the third-party service providers described above (such as our analytics, advertising, and spam-detection providers) strictly to operate and improve the site.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. To make a request, email us at hello@abeautifulbite.com.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. Data processed by the third-party services described in this policy (such as advertising and analytics providers) may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
